Connectivity Requirements

Local AI only works when OPC can reach your runtime. Choose a setup:

  • Self-host OPC on the same machine/LAN as your AI runtime (recommended for maximum privacy).
  • Expose your local AI with a tunnel (ngrok, cloudflared) and use the public URL.
  • Hybrid setup — use a hosted provider (OpenAI / Anthropic) for the OPC SaaS, switch to Local AI when self-hosting.

If you're using opc.example.com cloud, the server cannot reach localhost on your machine.
